Miss Tang Nga Sum, Carina
Chairlady
Tang Nga Sum, Carina grew up in an artistic family under the inspiration of her father, a violin teacher. She studied with many well-known pianists: Choi Sown Le, Karina Hou, Sierra Tse and Annie Li.
Carina, as one of the most successful pedagogues, is active in the music education industry in Hong Kong for 36 years. Over 200 students under Ms. Tang guidance and support, own the qualification of FRSM or FTCL, which issued by Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music(ABRSM) and Trinity College London(TCL). Nurturing youngsters with her aspiration in piano music, Ms Tang has a great number of her students who continuously win first prizes, outstanding awards and achievements of numerous local and international music competitions or festivals; such as, Shimoda Music Competition in Japan, International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition in Austria, Chopin International Piano Competition in USA, The American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in New York,DMZ International Music Festival in Korea. Performance standard of these young piano talents are highly appreciated by public.
Carina is also keen in promotion of classical music. She has organized numerous concerts and seminars, such as “Smart Kids Piano Recital”, “Sharing on MsTang Piano Teaching Strategies”, “When You Wish Upon a Star with Rose Yam”, “The Chinese Stories of Piano Rose, Yam Ka Yuk”, “Rose Yam in Music Wonderland”, “Wilson Yim Fantastic Magic Piano Recital”, “Pierce Lee Sentimental Orchestra Piano Recital”, “Addison Chan Playful Melody Piano Recital”, “Chinese Piano Talent Youth in Japan” and so on.
Since 2003, Carina has been organizing music competitions, from Hong Kong, through the world, to provide students and music-lovers a platform to be reviewed and awarded. Also, Carina has been interviewed by TV and radio stations, such as <Share My Song> from 881903, <New Culture Movement> from RTHK, <Faye's learning centre> from RTHK AM621, <You can do it> from RTHK FM926, <Art Like Campus> from ViuTV.
Since 2002, Carina wrote a series of 3 autobiographies in order to share her precious experiences. Her writings were exhibited in Hong Kong Book Fair as best-selling books. Recently, Ms. Tang published the book "Music World Horizon", by joining hands with the members of the "Hong Kong Pianist Society" and "Hong Kong International Music Culture Association". Promoting music culture through the touching stories of musicians. The book has not only been published in physical version but also uploaded to the Amazon platform into E-version.
In 2021, Carina has turned stories of Musician in Hong Kong, "Music World Horizon", to a program to be broadcasted in radio.
Ms Tang Nga Sum was awarded as The Excellent Music Teacher Achievement Award, and Education Award of Nurturing Young Talents by Hong Kong Piano Music Association, Outstanding Piano Teacher Awardin Italian International Music Competition, The Excellent Music Gardener Award in Boston Junior Piano Competition. In 2014, Ms Tang was recognized and awarded with The BrilliantMusic Teacher at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Mr. Laurent Ferlet

Pianist, Composer, arranger, Laurent Ferlet is a full accomplished musician who has build his artistic personality from the infleance and the teaching of great masters :
Pierre Sancan, Gaby Casadesus, Jean Fassina…He obtained the best distinctions in Ecole normale superieure de musique de Paris , Piano, Analyses, Harmony.
He spent two years with a full scolarship in the Berklee School of music, the prestigious Musical institution of Boston.
His curiosity brought him to explore different repertories from Jazz as well as world music.
Over the years this parisian birth has composed lot of winning award features,TV film, documentary in Europe as in the states for famous productions : Disney, Weinstein ,Gaumont, etc.
He was rewarded at the Wildscreen Festival in the categorie of best music award for : « The Story Begin » with Whoopy Goldberg Award and a Cesar in 2014 for the movie : « On the way to school »
Best original music in Larochelle Festival 2015 for the movie : Bears (Grizzly) Disney.
His collaborations repeted with great directors, brought him a deep complicity with the buisness industry.
In spite of his composition works , he is always involved and passionated by his first love, the piano .
He shares his passion with Franck Ciup, his childhood friend for the four hands piano and they both perfom regulary among France and Europe with this duo.
Mr. Chan Man Tat

Mr. Chan started to learn French horn since 11. He studied under Lee Sheung Mi, Li Po Luen, Jonney Ren, Cheryl and Homer Lee. He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1991. And then he learnt music conducting with Yu Feng, Artistic Director of the Beijing Central Opera.
In 2008, Mr. Chan went to Vietnam Opera Orchestra to be Associate Conductor, under Japanese conductor Mr Fukumura. They were invited to perform worldwide, such as Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, Shenzhen, Vietnam, etc.
Mr. Chan was the conductor of the Civil Aid Service Band Unit, the freelance members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Opera Orchestra of Vietnam, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Asian Youth Orchestra members, Lutheran Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra Mission of the Music Office Instructors member of Penang, Malaysia, Music Camp Instructor.
Mr. Chan is currently director of China Horn Association, Hong Kong, Music Director and Principal Conductor for the Asian Chamber Orchestra. To support youth education, he is consultant and conductor for many school orchestras all over China. He is also the Principal French Horn for orchestras.
Miss Stéphanie Franke

Stéphanie started her piano studies in her hometown Stockholm. Later, she moved to Barcelona to pursue her bachelor's degree in piano performance with the renowned Russian pianist and pedagogue Stanislav Pochekin at Conservatorio del Liceu where she graduated with the highest results. Later, she got accepted to pursue the prestigious Künstlerishe Diplom at the Prayner Konservatorium in Vienna, Austria, where she studied with the renowned Beethoven specialist Stephan Möller. After her time in Vienna, she returned to Barcelona to pursue a master's degree with the renowned Spanish pianist Albert Attenelle. She also took a course in piano pedagogy at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and holds a postgraduate teaching certificate for musicians from Trinity Laban Conservatory in London.
Stéphanie Franke has given concerts throughout Sweden, Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Hong Kong, Japan and USA. She has performed with chamber orchestras and as a soloist at Mozarthaus, Ehrbar Saal, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Palau de la Musica, Berwaldhallen, Auditorio del Liceu, Schloss Laudon, Bösendorfer Saal, Paderewski House, Konserthuset Stockolm, to name a few.
She has participated in numerous European festivals and masterclasses such as Int. Chopin Festival Busko-Zdroj, Barcelona Piano Academy International Summer Festival, VIP Festival, EMIV Festival, and Bad Ragaz. She has also performed at Drottningsholms Castle for the Royal Family of Sweden. She has been the recipient of over thirty scholarships, awards and prizes like Pedro Pons Foundation, Freemasons, Gålö Foundation, Royal Academy of Music, Spanish Artist Association Scholarship, among others.
Stéphanie has been involved in various charity concerts, raise funds for cancer research, against drugs and violence and volunteered at a home for troubled teens and orphans, helping them to learn piano, etc. She regularly visits Hong Kong and Japan to give masterclasses and to serve as a jury member in competitions. Her students have an excellent record of students winning competitions.
Miss Melody Ho

Melody Ho started her piano lesson at nine, and Guzheng at ten. She studied under Prof. Xu Lingzi, Chin King, and enlightened by Ng Hiu Hung. She completed her master degree in Guzheng profession from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. During the study at HKAPA, she learnt composition from Mr. Pang Chun Kit and song arrangement from Miss Tang Lok Yin. Melody has won scholarships multiple times and went to the mainland and Taiwan for further studies, and was instructed by Prof. Rao Ningxin, Prof. Wang Zhongshan, Prof.Fan Weici, and other famous teachers. She participated has won many competitions throughout China.
Melody is dedicated to promote Guzheng Art, her students got remarkable results in competitions. Since 2013, she has organized seven, co-organized two concerts. She has participate in countless performances, including TV shows, beauty pageants, concerts, recitals, etc.
Furthermore, Melody is blog writer at eastweek.com.hk. She composes music for guzheng, movies. She is also judge for music competitions. In order to further promote guzheng, she intiated guzheng performing crew "pure zheng" in 2017.
Mr. Li Ming Yeung

Born in Hong Kong, Ming Yeung Li is a professional soloist, freelance trombonist, and educator based in Melbourne, Australia. Li has won first and second places in various competitions, and has been engaging in numerous solo and accomplishment performances, workshops, festivals, and recordings around the world, such as Iceland, Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, and New Zealand.
Along the pathway as a soloist, Li has had solo performances with leading orchestras, wind ensembles and brass bands, including Hong Kong Symphony Society Wind Symphony, University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, University of Melbourne Brass Ensemble, Preston Symphony Orchestra, Footscray Yarraville City Band, Auckland City Brass, Whitehorse Orchestra.
Li has appeared as a collaborative trombonist in different albums for famous artists, including Björk (Biophilia) and soundtrack to Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1. As a accomplished trombonist, Li was invited by Yamaha New Zealand to present a solo recital in Auckland in 2018 and was the faculty artist in New Zealand International Brass Festival in 2019.
As a freelance orchestral trombonist, Li has performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Australian Music Theatre Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, North Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Further, Li is also an enthusiastic educator and conductor, including teaching in University and High School.
